The state water project's [[Oroville Dam]] in the Sacramento Valley provides water and power for the [[California Aqueduct]] in the San Joaquin Valley. The aqueduct runs from Clifton Court Forebay in the Delta southwards across the [[Transverse Ranges]]. The Central Valley Project includes numerous facilities between [[Shasta Dam]] in the north and Bakersfield in the south. [[Pacific Gas and Electric Company|Pacific Gas and Electric]], [[Western Area Power Administration]], and [[Southern California Edison]] built an interconnected [[electric grid]] connecting the north and south ends of the Central Valley.
