Fiberglasses,  a [[fiber reinforced plastic|fiber reinforced polymer]] sometimes contain borosilicate, borax, or boron oxide, and is added to increase the strength of the glass. The highly boronated glasses, E-glass (named for "Electrical" use) are alumino-borosilicate glass. Another common high-boron glasses, C-glass, also has a high boron oxide content, used for glass staple fibers and insulation.  D-glass, a [[borosilicate glass]], named for its low dielectric constant.<ref name="ullmann1">
