Numerous [[List of ZX Spectrum clones|unofficial Spectrum clones]] were produced, especially in Eastern Europe. Many small start-ups in the [[Soviet Union]] assembled various clones, distributed through poster adverts and street stalls. In the United Kingdom, Spectrum peripheral vendor [[Miles Gordon Technology]] (MGT) released the [[SAM Coupé]] 8-bit home computer in December 1989.
