Major highways which traverse the county include the [[New Jersey Turnpike]] ([[Interstate 95 in New Jersey|I-95]]), the [[Garden State Parkway]], [[Interstate 78 in New Jersey|I-78]], [[Interstate 278|I-278]], [[U.S. Route 1/9|Route 1/9]], [[U.S. Route 22 in New Jersey|Route 22]], [[New Jersey Route 24|Route 24]], [[New Jersey Route 27|Route 27]], [[New Jersey Route 28|Route 28]], [[New Jersey Route 35|Route 35]] (only in [[Rahway, New Jersey|Rahway]]), [[New Jersey Route 82|Route 82]], [[New Jersey Route 124|Route 124]], [[New Jersey Route 439|Route 439]], and the [[Goethals Bridge]].
