The American cable channel [[HBO]] was the original broadcaster of ''Sex and the City''; [[HBO Max]] now carries the entire series as it was originally aired. [[TBS (American TV channel)|TBS]] and [[WGN America]] were the first American channels to syndicate the show, utilizing the secondary syndicated cut; it also aired on various broadcast stations for several seasons. As of 2021, [[E!]] occasionally broadcasts the syndicated version of the series.

In February 2021, a remastered [[High-definition television|high-definition]] version of the series was released on HBO Max.
