===Politics=== Despite being [https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/sanpatriciocountytexas majority-minority] San Patricio county leans overwhelmingly Republican. The GOP does better than average among Latino residents in Texas, particularly south Texas. In 2022, Republicans won 40% of the Latino vote.<ref>{{Cite web |date=November 10, 2022 |title=Texas Republicans lost Latino voters support in election setback |url=https://www.dallasnews.com/news/2022/11/10/texas-republicans-lost-latino-support-in-election-setback/ |access-date=January 12, 2023 |website=Dallas News |language=en}}</ref> This has been as high as 48% in 2014.<ref>{{Cite web |last=Krogstad |first=Jens Manuel |date=November 7, 2014 |title=Hispanic Voters in the 2014 Election |url=https://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Texas-Latino-vote-splits-5876952.php |access-date=January 12, 2023 |website=Pew Research Center's Hispanic Trends Project |language=en-US}}</ref> These margins help Republicans win majority-minority districts, while Republicans in other parts of the country struggle - only garnering between 21% and 30% of the vote. Republicans appear to be increasing their Latino support from picking off specific segments: Men, rural Latinos, Rio Grande Valley, devout Catholics, Tejano and pro-life voters. {{PresHead|place=San Patricio County, Texas|source=<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS|title=Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections|last=Leip|first=David|website=uselectionatlas.org|access-date=July 30, 2018}}</ref>}} <!-- PresRow should be {{PresRow|Year|Winning party|GOP vote #|Dem vote #|3rd party vote #|State}} --> {{PresRow|2024|Republican|17,337|8,025|217|Texas}} {{PresRow|2020|Republican|16,516|8,988|387|Texas}} {{PresRow|2016|Republican|13,030|7,871|755|Texas}} {{PresRow|2012|Republican|12,005|7,856|217|Texas}} {{PresRow|2008|Republican|12,404|8,854|138|Texas}} {{PresRow|2004|Republican|13,474|7,764|82|Texas}} {{PresRow|2000|Republican|10,599|7,840|260|Texas}} {{PresRow|1996|Democratic|7,678|8,132|1,173|Texas}} {{PresRow|1992|Democratic|7,456|8,202|3,229|Texas}} {{PresRow|1988|Democratic|9,159|9,920|379|Texas}} {{PresRow|1984|Republican|11,074|8,838|50|Texas}} {{PresRow|1980|Democratic|8,326|8,627|541|Texas}} {{PresRow|1976|Democratic|5,853|9,469|73|Texas}} {{PresRow|1972|Republican|7,179|5,097|226|Texas}} {{PresRow|1968|Democratic|3,717|6,818|1,876|Texas}} {{PresRow|1964|Democratic|2,188|7,176|20|Texas}} {{PresRow|1960|Democratic|3,129|5,246|16|Texas}} {{PresRow|1956|Democratic|3,302|3,728|22|Texas}} {{PresRow|1952|Democratic|3,220|3,315|5|Texas}} {{PresRow|1948|Democratic|963|2,649|211|Texas}} {{PresRow|1944|Democratic|878|2,712|251|Texas}} {{PresRow|1940|Democratic|980|2,963|20|Texas}} {{PresRow|1936|Democratic|482|2,213|30|Texas}} {{PresRow|1932|Democratic|407|2,142|17|Texas}} {{PresRow|1928|Republican|1,388|579|0|Texas}} {{PresRow|1924|Democratic|987|1,097|79|Texas}} {{PresRow|1920|Democratic|308|620|27|Texas}} {{PresRow|1916|Democratic|130|594|73|Texas}} {{PresFoot|1912|Democratic|175|551|167|Texas}}
