In 1993, [[Roseanne Barr]] and [[John Goodman]] both won [[Golden Globe Award]]s, Barr for [[Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy|Best Actress]] and Goodman for [[Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy|Best Actor]]. The series won the [[Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy]].

The series won a [[List of Peabody Award winners (1990–99)|Peabody Award]] in 1992 and a [[People's Choice Awards|People's Choice Award]] for Favorite New Television Comedy Program in 1989. Barr won five additional People's Choice Awards for Favorite Female Performer in a New TV Program (1989), Favorite Female All Around Entertainer (1990), and Favorite Female TV Performer (1990, 1994, and 1995).

In 2008, the entire cast (except for Metcalf) reunited at the [[TV Land Award]]s to receive the Innovator Award.
