The city is protected by [[Service de police de la Ville de Québec]] and [[Service de protection contre les incendies de Québec]] (fire dept.) On 1 November 2020, the Quebec City police [[2020 Quebec City stabbing|arrested a man]] dressed in medieval costume and armed with a Japanese sword.
