The president of India used to receive {{INRConvert|10|k|-2}} per month per the Second Schedule of the constitution.  This amount was increased to {{INRConvert|50|k|lk=|year=1998|-2}} in 1998. On 11 September 2008, the [[Government of India]] increased the salary of the president to {{INRConvert|1.5|l|lk=on|year=2008}}. This amount was further increased to {{INRConvert|5|l|lk=on|year=2018}} in the [[2018 Union budget of India]].
