==Sponsorship== English football sponsorship After an inaugural season with no sponsorship, the Premier League was sponsored by Carling from 1993 until 2001, during which time it was known as the FA Carling Premiership. In 2001, a new sponsorship deal with Barclaycard saw the league rebranded the FA Barclaycard Premiership, which was changed to the FA Barclays Premiership in time for the 2004β05 season. For the 2007β08 season, the league was rebranded the Barclays Premier League. {| class="wikitable" style="text-align:center;margin-left:1em;float:center" |- !Period !Sponsor !Brand |- |1992β1993||No sponsor ||FA Premier League |- |1993β2001|| Carling ||FA Carling Premiership |- |2001β2004||Barclaycard ||FA Barclaycard Premiership |- |2004β2007||rowspan=2| Barclays ||FA Barclays Premiership |- |2007β2016|| Barclays Premier League |- |2016βpresent|| No sponsor ||Premier League |} Barclays' deal with the Premier League expired at the end of the 2015β16 season.
