The main highway directly serving Passaic is [[New Jersey Route 21|Route 21]]. [[New Jersey Route 3]], the [[Garden State Parkway]] and [[Interstate 80 in New Jersey|I-80]] are nearby. The city has six [[List of crossings of the Lower Passaic River|bridges in use spanning the Passaic River]]. A seventh bridge serves railroad traffic but is not currently in use.

Passaic formerly had four train stations ([[Passaic Park (Erie Railroad station)|Passaic Park]], Prospect Street, [[Passaic (Erie Railroad station)|Passaic]] and Harrison Street) on the [[Erie Railroad]] main line.
