The Dutch film ''[[Flesh and Blood (1985 film)|Flesh and Blood]]'' (1985) prominently features a statue of Saint Martin. A mercenary in Renaissance Italy, named Martin, finds a statue of Saint Martin cutting his cloak and takes it as a sign to desert and rogue around under the saint's protection.
