A major MVD outbreak occurred among illegal [[gold mine]]rs around Goroumbwa mine in [[Durba, Democratic Republic of the Congo|Durba]] and [[Watsa]], [[Democratic Republic of Congo]] from 1998 to 2000, when co-circulating MARV and RAVV caused 154 cases of MVD and 128 deaths.
