===Performing arts=== The city supports a very active calendar with its showcase theater, [[City Hall/Thalian Hall|Thalian Hall]], hosting about 250 events annually. The University of North Carolina at Wilmington College of Arts and Science departments of Theatre, Music and Art share a state-of-the-art, $34 million Cultural Arts Building, which opened in December 2006. The production area consists of a music recital hall, art gallery, and two theaters.
