The [[Laguna del Sauce Airport|Punta del Este International Airport]], located {{convert|15|km|mi|sp=us}} from [[Punta del Este]] in the [[Maldonado Department]], is the second busiest air terminal in Uruguay, built by the Uruguayan architect [[Carlos Ott]]. It was inaugurated in 1997.<ref name="urxxi-log" />
