The racial makeup of the city was 84.98% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 3.56% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 2.55% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 1.60% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.05% [[Race (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.78% from some other races and 6.48% from two or more races. The most common ancestries in Duluth were [[German Americans|German]] (24.0%), [[Norwegian Americans|Norwegian]] (14.2%), [[Swedish Americans|Swedish]] (10.3%), [[Irish Americans|Irish]] (9.8%), and [[Polish Americans|Polish]] (6.7%). 95.2% of residents were born in the United States, and 72.7% were born in Minnesota. 95.2% spoke only English at home, and 1.7% spoke Spanish. 94.5% had at least a high school degree, and 39.0% had at least a bachelor's degree.
