==Personal life==

In 1994, Gilmour married the English novelist and journalist [[Polly Samson]], who has written lyrics for many of his songs, including some on Pink Floyd albums. Gilmour is an experienced pilot and aviation enthusiast. Under the aegis of his company, [[Intrepid Aviation]],<ref name="Mabbett-12"/> he amassed a collection of historical aircraft.
