== Modern visual art == Caravaggio's [[baroque art]] was rediscovered as self-consciously political in the 1999 book ''Quoting Caravaggio'' by [[Mieke Bal]].<ref>{{cite book |title=Comparative Literature in an Age of Globalization |editor1=Haun Saussy |publisher= Johns Hopkins University Press |year=2006 |isbn=9780801883804 |page=167}}</ref> In 2013, a touring Caravaggio exhibition called "Burst of Light: Caravaggio and His Legacy" opened in the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, Connecticut.<ref>{{cite magazine |last= Landi|first=Ann |date= March 2013|title=Art Talk: Dark Shadows |page=38 |magazine=ARTnews LLC }}</ref> The show included five paintings by the master artist that included ''Saint John the Baptist in the Wilderness'' (1604–1605) and ''Martha and Mary Magdalene'' (1589). The whole travelled to France and also to Los Angeles, California. The murder of Rannucchio is also depicted.
