On 12 June 2018, the U.S. Department of State approved a possible Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to India for six more AH-64Es and associated equipment in an estimated $930 million deal. On 1 January 2024, senior Army officials told [[India Today]] that the [[Army Aviation Corps (India)|Indian Army Aviation Corps]] is expected to induct the first batch of Apache helicopters in February–March of this year. This is to enable the army to protect its tanks on the battlefield when the [[Indian Air Force]] is unavailable.
