The Woody Guthrie Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves as administrator and caretaker of the Woody Guthrie Archives. The museum is open to the public; the archives are open only to researchers by appointment. Guthrie's unrecorded written lyrics housed at the archives have been the starting point of several albums including the [[Wilco]] and [[Billy Bragg]] albums ''[[Mermaid Avenue]]'' and ''[[Mermaid Avenue Vol. II]]'', created in 1998 sessions at the invitation of Guthrie's daughter Nora.<ref>DVD Talk.
