===Law enforcement===
Montebello has a police department consisting of 74 sworn officers, which includes the Chief of Police, two captains, five lieutenants, and ten sergeants.<ref name="police">{{cite web|url=https://www.montebelloca.gov/departments/police/about |title=Community Alerts |publisher=City of Montebello |access-date=February 20, 2024}}</ref> The department also employs 24 civilian personnel organized into three divisions: Field Services, Investigative Services, and Support Services. The Chief of Police is Paul Espinosa and is the eleventh police chief of the Montebello Police Department since 1920.
