==Government and politics== Livingston County is heavily Republican. 1964 was the only time in history that Livingston County voted for the Democratic presidential candidate. Aside from 1964, Livingston County has voted Republican in every presidential election since the Republican Party's founding in 1854. Livingston County also voted Whig in every presidential election from 1828 to 1852. Since Johnson's win in 1964, the closest that a Democratic presidential candidate has gotten to winning Livingston County was Bill Clinton in 1996, when he lost to Bob Dole by just 113 votes. <!-- PresRow should be --> |} {| class="wikitable sortable" |+ |- !
