===Fonda and Kerry=== In the [[2004 United States presidential election|2004 presidential election]], her name was used as a disparaging epithet against [[John Kerry]], a former VVAW leader, who was then the [[Democratic Party (United States)|Democratic Party]] presidential candidate. [[Republican Party of the United States|Republican National Committee]] Chairman [[Ed Gillespie]] called Kerry a "Jane Fonda Democrat". Kerry's opponents also [[Kerry Fonda 2004 election photo controversy|circulated a photograph]] showing Fonda and Kerry in the same large crowd at a 1970 anti-war rally, though they sat several rows apart.
