During the [[war in Bosnia and Herzegovina]] (1992–1995) there were a number of ritual beheadings of Serbs and Croats who were taken as prisoners of war by [[Bosnian mujahideen|mujahideen]] members of the [[Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina|Bosnian Army]].
