The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has widened the Parkway to three lanes in each direction from exit 80 in [[South Toms River, New Jersey|South Toms River]], [[Ocean County, New Jersey|Ocean County]] to exit 30 in [[Somers Point, New Jersey|Somers Point]], [[Atlantic County, New Jersey|Atlantic County]], which included widening of bridges at several river crossings.<ref>[http://www.state.nj.us/turnpike/our-projects-widening.html Garden State Parkway Milepost 30 to 80 Widening Project], [[New Jersey Turnpike Authority]].
