On 18 October 2015, in the [[2015 Swiss federal election|federal election]] State Councillor ({{langx|de|link=no|Ständerätin}}) [[Anita Fetz]], member of the [[Social Democratic Party of Switzerland|Social Democratic Party {{color box|{{party color|Social Democratic Party of Switzerland}}|border=silver}} (SP)]], was re-elected in the first round as single representative of the canton of Basel-Town in the national [[Council of States (Switzerland)|Council of States]] ({{lang|de|Ständerat}}) with an absolute majority of 35'842 votes.
