As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2010, there were 43,213 people and 14,537 households in the CDP, with 2.93 persons per household. The racial makeup of the CDP was 79.9% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 11.2% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.2% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 2.7% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.05% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 3.6% [[Race (United States Census)|some other race]], and 2.3% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 12.2% of the population. The CDP was 72.5% non-Hispanic White.<ref name="Census 2010 DP"/>

There were 14,537 households, out of which 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% were headed by [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 13.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.3% were non-families. 22.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.0% were someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.93, and the average family size was 3.43.<ref name="Census 2010 DP"/>

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 22.5% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 27.9% from 45 to 64, and 14.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40.0 years.<ref name="Census 2010 DP"/>

For the period 2009–2011, it was estimated that there were 14,322 housing units, of which 17.6% were in multi-unit structures. The homeownership rate was 78.7%.
