===Name=== The name ''Weehawken'' is generally considered to have evolved from the [[Algonquian languages|Algonquian language]] [[Lenape]] spoken by the [[Hackensack (Native Americans)|Hackensack]] and [[Tappan (Native Americans)|Tappan]].
