Trenton is located in southwestern Fannin County. [[U.S. Route 69 in Texas|U.S. Route 69]] passes through the northeastern part of the city, leading northwest {{convert|27|mi}} to [[Denison, Texas|Denison]] and southeast {{convert|26|mi}} to [[Greenville, Texas|Greenville]]. [[Texas State Highway 121]] passes through the northern part of Trenton, crossing US 69 at a [[diamond interchange]]. Highway 121 leads northeast {{convert|15|mi}} to [[Bonham, Texas|Bonham]], the Fannin County seat, and southwest {{convert|17|mi}} to [[Melissa, Texas|Melissa]]. The center of [[Dallas]] is {{convert|57|mi}} southwest of Trenton via Melissa and [[McKinney, Texas|McKinney]].
