==Geography== [[File:Watchic Lake 061228.jpg|thumb|left|Watchic Lake]] According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of {{convert|80.59|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, of which {{convert|59.03|sqmi|sqkm|2}} is land and {{convert|21.56|sqmi|sqkm|2}} is water.<ref name ="Gazetteer files">{{cite web|title=US Gazetteer files 2010|url=https://www.census.gov/geo/maps-data/data/gazetteer2010.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=December 16, 2012}}</ref> Situated beside [[Sebago Lake]], Standish is drained by Sebago Lake and the [[Presumpscot River]], which is the town's eastern border, and by the [[Saco River]], which is the town's (and [[Cumberland County, Maine|Cumberland County's]]) southwestern border. The eastern portion of Standish is part of the Presumpscot River watershed. Watchic Lake is located within the town. The town is crossed by state routes [[Maine State Route 11|11]], [[Maine State Route 25|25]], [[Maine State Route 25A|25A]], [[Maine State Route 35|35]], [[Maine State Route 35A.|35A]], [[Maine State Route 114|114]], and [[Maine State Route 237|237]]. It is bordered by the towns of [[Windham, Maine|Windham]] and [[Gorham, Maine|Gorham]] to the southeast, [[Buxton, Maine|Buxton]] and [[Hollis, Maine|Hollis]] to the south, [[Limington, Maine|Limington]] to the west, and [[Baldwin, Maine|Baldwin]] and [[Sebago, Maine|Sebago]] to the northwest. {{clear}}
