==Geography== According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], the village has a total area of {{convert|1.66|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, of which {{convert|1.65|sqmi|sqkm|2}} is land and {{convert|0.01|sqmi|sqkm|2}} (0.60%) is water.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2020"/> Roscommon is within close proximity of three state parks: [[South Higgins Lake State Park]], [[North Higgins Lake State Park]], and [[Hartwick Pines State Park]]. A {{convert|160|acre|ha|adj=on}} parcel within the [[Au Sable State Forest]], referred to as the Roscommon Red Pines, is {{convert|8|mi|km}} east of Roscommon. Roscommon has its own post office with the 48653 [[ZIP Code]], which also serves all of [[Gerrish Township, Michigan|Gerrish Township]], most of [[Lyon Township, Roscommon County, Michigan|Lyon Township]], and smaller areas extending into [[Lake Township, Roscommon County, Michigan|Lake Township]], [[Markey Township, Michigan|Markey Township]], and [[Au Sable Township, Roscommon County, Michigan|Au Sable Township]].
