===2010 census===
The [[2010 United States census]] counted 3,818 people, 1,368 households, and 997 families in the CDP. The [[population density]] was {{convert|2933.4|/sqmi}}. There were 1,441 housing units at an average density of {{convert|1107.1|/sqmi}}. The racial makeup was 92.95% (3,549) [[White (U.S. census)|White]], 2.15% (82) [[Black (U.S. census)|Black or African American]], 0.21% (8) [[Native American (U.S. census)|Native American]], 1.99% (76) [[Asian (U.S. census)|Asian]], 0.00% (0) [[Pacific Islander (U.S. census)|Pacific Islander]], 1.49% (57) from [[Race and ethnicity in the United States census#Race|other races]], and 1.20% (46) from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. census)|Hispanic or Latino]] of any race were 7.91% (302) of the population.<ref name=Census2010/>

Of the 1,368 households, 34.6% had children under the age of 18; 56.0% were married couples living together; 11.8% had a female householder with no husband present and 27.1% were non-families. Of all households, 22.4% were made up of individuals and 9.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.29.<ref name=Census2010/>

24.1% of the population were under the age of 18, 8.0% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 30.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39.7 years. For every 100 females, the population had 95.1 males. For every 100 females ages 18 and older there were 91.7 males.<ref name=Census2010/>

At the [[2000 United States census|2000 census]]<ref name="GR2" /> there were 3,742 people, 1,289 households, and 964 families living in the CDP. The population density was {{convert|2,833.1|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 1,358 housing units at an average density of {{convert|1,028.2|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The [[Race and ethnicity in the United States Census#2010 census|racial makeup]] of the CDP was 95.70% White, 1.28% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 1.15% from other races, and 1.26% from two or more races. Of the 1,289 households 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.7% were married couples living together, 12.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.2% were non-families. 21.1% of households were one person and 11.0% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.39. 99% of the population in Port Monmouth.<ref name=Census2000/>

The age distribution was 27.4% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.5% 65 or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.1 males.<ref name=Census2000/>

The median household income was $53,864 and the median family income  was $63,375. Males had a median income of $45,565 versus $30,244 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $21,369. About 8.6% of families and 10.5% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 15.3% of those under age 18 and 12.3% of those age 65 or over.<ref name=Census2000/>
