Port Charlotte is located at the north end of the [[Charlotte Harbor (estuary)|Charlotte Harbor Estuary]], northwest of the city of Punta Gorda. It is {{convert|100|mi|-1}} south of [[Tampa, Florida|Tampa]] and {{convert|65|mi}} north of [[Naples, Florida|Naples]].
