==Geography== According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], the township had a total area of 12.13 square miles (31.41 km<sup>2</sup>), including 10.48 square miles (27.14 km<sup>2</sup>) of land and 1.65 square miles (4.27 km<sup>2</sup>) of water (13.59%).<ref name=CensusArea/><ref name=GR1 /> [[Local government in New Jersey#Unincorporated communities|Unincorporated communities]], localities and place names located partially or completely within the township include Amon Heights, Bethel, Biedemon, Delair, Delair Station, Delaware Gardens, Dudley, East Pennsauken, Fish House, Hillcrest, Homesteadville, Jordantown, Merchantville Park, Morris, Morrisville, North Pennsville and Wellwood.<ref>[http://www.state.nj.us/infobank/localnames.txt Locality Search], State of [[New Jersey]]. Once an oil storage and distribution facility, the island is now the site of a container cargo shipping operation and nesting [[bald eagle]]s.
