===2010 census===
The [[2010 United States census]] counted 2,423 people, 1,028 households, and 588 families in the CDP. The [[population density]] was {{convert|2586.8|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|people&nbsp;|people|}}. There were 1,116 housing units at an average density of {{convert|1191.4|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|units&nbsp;|units|}}. The racial makeup was 44.99% (1,090) [[White (U.S. census)|White]], 39.25% (951) [[Black (U.S. census)|Black or African American]], 0.17% (4) [[Native American (U.S. census)|Native American]], 3.63% (88) [[Asian (U.S. census)|Asian]], 0.04% (1) [[Pacific Islander (U.S. census)|Pacific Islander]], 6.23% (151) from [[Race and ethnicity in the United States census#Race|other races]], and 5.70% (138) from two or more races. Of the 1,028 households, 20.2% had children under the age of 18; 37.5% were married couples living together; 14.1% had a female householder with no husband present and 42.8% were non-families. Of all households, 37.1% were made up of individuals and 10.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 3.13.<ref name=Census2010/>

19.2% of the population were under the age of 18, 10.7% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39.0 years. For every 100 females, the population had 100.2 males. For every 100 females ages 18 and older there were 99.3 males.<ref name=Census2010/>

There were 1,072 households, out of which 19.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.9% were non-families. 33.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 3.05.<ref name=Census2000/>

In the CDP the population was spread out, with 18.8% under the age of 18, 10.0% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 100.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.2 males.<ref name=Census2000/>

The median income for a household in the CDP was $43,274, and the median income for a family was $60,536. Males had a median income of $32,319 versus $26,853 for females.
