Minimalism as a [[Elements of art|formal]] strategy has been deployed in the paintings of [[Barnett Newman]], [[Ad Reinhardt]], [[Josef Albers]], and the works of artists as diverse as [[Pablo Picasso]], [[Yayoi Kusama]], [[Giorgio Morandi]], and others.
