==Geography==

The town is crossed by [[Maine State Route 11|State Route 11]] and [[Maine State Route 157|State Route 157]]. The town of [[East Millinocket, Maine|East Millinocket]] is {{convert|8|mi|0}} to the east. Millinocket is the closest town to [[Mount Katahdin]], in [[Baxter State Park]], {{convert|20|mi}} to the northwest. At an elevation of {{convert|5270|ft}}, its summit is the highest point in Maine and the northern terminus of the [[Appalachian Trail]].

Millinocket Stream flows through the town, from Millinocket Lake north of the town into the [[West Branch Penobscot River]].
