==Geography==
Maryville is located in southern Madison County at {{coord|38|43|31|N|89|57|28|W|type:city}} (38.725298, -89.957674).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=April 23, 2011|date=February 12, 2011|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is {{convert|17|mi}} northeast of downtown [[St. Louis, Missouri]]. It is bordered to the north by [[Glen Carbon, Illinois|Glen Carbon]], to the east by [[Troy, Illinois|Troy]], and to the south by [[Collinsville, Illinois|Collinsville]].

[[Illinois Route 159]] passes through the village as Center Street, leading north {{convert|6|mi|0}} to [[Edwardsville, Illinois|Edwardsville]], the Madison [[county seat]], and south {{convert|4|mi|0}} to the center of Collinsville. [[Illinois Route 162]] crosses the northern part of the village, leading east {{convert|4|mi|0}} to Troy and west {{convert|6|mi|0}} to [[Pontoon Beach, Illinois|Pontoon Beach]]. Interstates [[Interstate 55|55]] and [[Interstate 70|70]] cross the southern end of Maryville together, with access from Exit 15 (IL 159).
