Finally, I decided that I'd be better off with a poor man whom I loved than with a wealthy one whose money had attracted me. So I married Jim Brown.<ref>{{Cite book |last=Sigillito |first=Gina |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=XfUCl5tHDNUC&pg=PA84 |title=The Daughters Of Maeve: 50 Irish Women Who Changed World |date=2012-04-24 |publisher=Kensington Publishing Corp. |isbn=978-0-8065-3609-5 |page=84}}</ref><ref name="Heroine">{{Cite book |last=Landau |first=Elaine |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=mbCF5L1sm94C&pg=PA44 |title=Heroine of the Titanic: The Real Unsinkable Molly Brown |date=2001 |publisher=Houghton Mifflin Harcourt |isbn=978-0-395-93912-3 |language=en }}</ref>{{rp|44β45}}}} Margaret and J.J. married in Leadville Annunciation Church on September 1, 1886.<ref name="MO"/> They had two children: Lawrence Palmer Brown (1887β1949), known as Larry, and Catherine Ellen Brown (1889β1969), known as Helen.<ref name="Heroine" />{{rp|51, 52, 117}} They also raised three of their nieces: Grace, Florence, and Helen Tobin.<ref name="Iversen" />{{rp|xxiv}}
