According to the [[United States Census Bureau|U.S. Census Bureau]], the township had a total area of 16.09 square miles (41.67&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>), including 16.01 square miles (41.45&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of land and 0.09 square miles (0.22&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of water (0.53%).<ref name=CensusArea/><ref name=GR1 />

[[Richwood, New Jersey|Richwood]] is an [[Local government in New Jersey#Unincorporated communities|unincorporated community]] and [[census-designated place]] (CDP) located within portions of both [[Harrison Township, New Jersey|Harrison Township]] and Mantua Township.
