The [[List of communities in Alberta#Urban service areas|urban service areas]] of [[Fort McMurray]] and [[Sherwood Park]] are [[Hamlet (place)|hamlets]] recognized as equivalents of cities, but remain unincorporated. [[List of cities in Alberta#City status eligibility|Ten towns]] are also eligible for city status but remain incorporated as towns.

Alberta has 19 cities.
