==Geography==
Linden is located in northeastern Cumberland County and southeastern Harnett County. Its northern border lies just inside [[Harnett County, North Carolina|Harnett County]], whose southern border is here formed by the Little River, a tributary of the [[Cape Fear River]].

[[North Carolina Highway 217]] passes through the town as Linden Road and Mill Road, leading northeast {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Erwin, North Carolina|Erwin]] and west {{convert|2|mi|0}} to [[U.S. Route 401]]. Via US 401 it is {{convert|18|mi}} southwest from Linden to [[Fayetteville, North Carolina|Fayetteville]], the Cumberland County seat.

According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], Linden has a total area of {{convert|1.3|km2|disp=flip}}, all  land.<ref name="Census 2010"/>
