Each tube provides a {{convert|21.5|ft|m|adj=mid|-wide}} roadway with two lanes and {{convert|13|ft|m}} of vertical clearance.<ref name="Port Authority of New York and New Jersey"/> Most vehicles carrying [[Dangerous goods|hazmats]] are not allowed in the tunnel, and trucks cannot use the center tube.
