The town of Ledgeview was known as the "town of De Pere" from 1839 until 1994, when they changed their name to end confusion with the neighboring city of [[De Pere, Wisconsin|De Pere]].<ref>[https://www.ledgeviewwisconsin.com/about-us/history/ History: From Bedrock to Ledgeview].
