===Early life===

In 1987, she became the appointed officer of the Instituto Nacional de Cultura and organized competitions to promote the conservation of the cultural heritage of Peru. In 1992, she became the ''regidora'' ([[alderman]]) of [[Lima|metropolitan Lima]].
