==Modern times==
It has given its name to the larger [[Kemptown, Brighton|Kemptown]] region of Brighton. Below and to the east of Kemp Town, at beach level, is now [[Brighton Marina]], and [[Black Rock (Brighton and Hove)|Black Rock]] the site of a former [[Lido (swimming pool)|lido]].
