== Geography ==
According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the town has a total area of {{convert|69.2|sqkm|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|68.8|sqkm|order=flip}} are land and {{convert|0.5|sqkm|order=flip|1}} are water, comprising 0.66% of the town.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2021"/> The [[Pemigewasset River]] forms the eastern boundary of the town, and its tributary the [[Smith River (Pemigewasset River tributary)|Smith River]] forms two portions of the northern boundary. The southwestern corner of the town drains south via Mountain Brook to the [[Blackwater River (Contoocook River tributary)|Blackwater River]] in neighboring [[Andover, New Hampshire|Andover]], a tributary of the [[Contoocook River]].
