According to the [[United States Census Bureau]], the borough had a total area of 2.43 square miles (6.30&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>), including 2.39 square miles (6.19&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of land and 0.04 square miles (0.10&nbsp;km<sup>2</sup>) of water (1.65%).<ref name=CensusArea/><ref name=GR1 /> It is drained by the [[South Branch Raritan River|South Branch of the Raritan River]].
