It is bordered by the town of [[Peacham, Vermont|Peacham]] to the north, [[Barnet, Vermont|Barnet]] to the northeast, and [[Ryegate, Vermont|Ryegate]] to the east, all in Caledonia County. To the south, in [[Orange County, Vermont|Orange County]], are the towns of [[Newbury (town), Vermont|Newbury]] (southeast), [[Topsham, Vermont|Topsham]] (south), and [[Orange, Vermont|Orange]] (southwest). The [[Washington County, Vermont|Washington County]] towns of [[Plainfield, Vermont|Plainfield]] and [[Marshfield, Vermont|Marshfield]] are to the west. The CDP of Groton is the primary settlement in the town, located in the southeastern corner along US 302 and the Wells River.
