==Geography== According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.76 sqmi, of which 2.53 sqmi is land and 0.23 sqmi is water. Gold Beach is bordered to the north by the Rogue River and Barley Beach, also known as Bailey Beach. ===Climate=== Gold Beach has cool, very wet winters and mild, relatively dry summers. The location is heavily influenced by the moderating waters of the Pacific and the cool offshore currents. As a result, the temperature swings are very narrow for a climate of its latitude. According to the Kรถppen climate classification system, Gold Beach has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate (Csb). Between 1948 and 2014, the average maximum temperature in January was about 54 F, and the average minimum was about 41 F. The corresponding averages for July were 68 F and 51 F. Annually, there are high temperatures of 90 F on an average of only 0.1 days and there are low temperatures of 32 F or lower on an average of 9.2 days. The record high temperature was 102 F on September 10, 1973. The record low temperature was 12 F on January 21, 1962. The average annual precipitation between 1948 and 2014 was about 80 in, mostly falling between October and April. Measurable precipitation occurs on an average of 132 days. The wettest "rain year" was from July 1973 to June 1974 with 116.23 in and the driest from July 1976 to June 1977 with 38.83 in. The most precipitation in one month was 34.48 in in November 1973. The most precipitation in 24 hours was 7.94 in on December 3, 1987. Snow is very rare in Gold Beach, averaging only 0.2 in annually. The most snow in one year was 9.0 in in 1972, including 6.5 in in January and 2.5 in in December. According to the Trewartha climate classification, it has a subtropical climate and is one of the northernmost North American locations to have one. {{Weather box|width=auto |location = Gold Beach, Oregon, 1991โ2020 normals, extremes 1948–present |single line = Y |collapsed =Y | Jan record high F = 74 | Feb record high F = 81 | Mar record high F = 80 | Apr record high F = 82 | May record high F = 86 | Jun record high F = 90 | Jul record high F = 89 | Aug record high F = 88 | Sep record high F = 95 | Oct record high F = 91 | Nov record high F = 76 | Dec record high F = 72 | year record high F = | Jan avg record high F = 64.3 | Feb avg record high F = 66.3 | Mar avg record high F = 66.6 | Apr avg record high F = 69.4 | May avg record high F = 73.3 | Jun avg record high F = 76.1 | Jul avg record high F = 78.3 | Aug avg record high F = 78.5 | Sep avg record high F = 81.3 | Oct avg record high F = 77.4 | Nov avg record high F = 67.1 | Dec avg record high F = 63.2 | year avg record high F = 84.6 | Jan high F = 54.7 | Feb high F = 55.4 | Mar high F = 56.7 | Apr high F = 58.6 | May high F = 62.3 | Jun high F = 65.4 | Jul high F = 68.1 | Aug high F = 68.6 | Sep high F = 68.8 | Oct high F = 64.1 | Nov high F = 57.2 | Dec high F = 54.0 | year high F = 61.2 | Jan mean F = 48.7 | Feb mean F = 48.9 | Mar mean F = 49.7 | Apr mean F = 51.4 | May mean F = 54.8 | Jun mean F = 57.7 | Jul mean F = 60.6 | Aug mean F = 60.9 | Sep mean F = 60.3 | Oct mean F = 56.4 | Nov mean F = 50.9 | Dec mean F = 47.9 | year mean F = 54.0 | Jan low F = 42.7 | Feb low F = 42.3 | Mar low F = 42.7 | Apr low F = 44.2 | May low F = 47.2 | Jun low F = 50.1 | Jul low F = 53.0 | Aug low F = 53.2 | Sep low F = 51.7 | Oct low F = 48.8 | Nov low F = 44.6 | Dec low F = 41.7 | year low F = 46.9 | Jan avg record low F = 33.2 | Feb avg record low F = 32.9 | Mar avg record low F = 34.2 | Apr avg record low F = 36.2 | May avg record low F = 40.5 | Jun avg record low F = 44.0 | Jul avg record low F = 47.8 | Aug avg record low F = 47.3 | Sep avg record low F = 44.7 | Oct avg record low F = 40.2 | Nov avg record low F = 34.8 | Dec avg record low F = 32.7 | year avg record low F = 29.1 | Jan record low F = 12 | Feb record low F = 21 | Mar record low F = 26 | Apr record low F = 28 | May record low F = 31 | Jun record low F = 35 | Jul record low F = 36 | Aug record low F = 34 | Sep record low F = 37 | Oct record low F = 31 | Nov record low F = 25 | Dec record low F = 16 | year record low F = 12 | precipitation colour = green | Jan precipitation inch = 11.97 | Feb precipitation inch = 9.68 | Mar precipitation inch = 10.31 | Apr precipitation inch = 7.09 | May precipitation inch = 3.45 | Jun precipitation inch = 1.76 | Jul precipitation inch = 0.27 | Aug precipitation inch = 0.46 | Sep precipitation inch = 1.41 | Oct precipitation inch = 4.91 | Nov precipitation inch = 10.69 | Dec precipitation inch = 13.18 | year precipitation inch = 75.18 | Jan precipitation days = 18.3 | Feb precipitation days = 17.2 | Mar precipitation days = 18.8 | Apr precipitation days = 15.5 | May precipitation days = 10.5 | Jun precipitation days = 5.9 | Jul precipitation days = 2.3 | Aug precipitation days = 2.8 | Sep precipitation days = 4.8 | Oct precipitation days = 12.1 | Nov precipitation days = 18.6 | Dec precipitation days = 18.6 |source 1 = NOAA |source 2 = NOAA NCEI }}
